You have to respect a man like this who learned so many important lessons.
The third lesson is particularly hard to live first hand. Parents are to train up their children in the way they are to go. As parents we need to know which way they are to go. Many parents train up their children in the way they (parents) want the children to go. This is not what the Bible teaches though. We are to train up our children in the way God wants them to go. This requires parents know what way God wants our children to go. The grind comes what if as parents we believe God wants our children to be missionaries or pastors. Think what this means for our children, and how this will effect us. What if as parents we don’t want to loose our children possibly never seeing them or hearing from them again as they go to “deepest darkest Africa.” Maybe even die on some foreign soil.
Obvious theatrics and over exaggerating, however I think it helps to put parental struggles in to perspective, and why some parents struggle with their children, and church involvement. Is it possible some parents understand what is involved with child training?
We cannot help but to admire the parent who do understand and go through with it and still support them. Also unfortunately, right or wrong, understand why some parents struggle with it.

At the risk of sounding like a split personality you scare me sometimes. You sounded like you were going off there for a while. Especially with the theatrics you were doing. I think Trey was right.
