Supremacy of Christ and Truth in a post-modern world

Whew!! What a job breaking down the Word of our Lord. I heard something similar a few yeas back and the intent of the preaching then was that sure we need to confront the other side issues such as abortion, euthanasia, postmodernism, the me first, and the get all you can and sit on the can philosophy, however, ultimately we need to get back to the Bible and preach the Bible and teach the Bible, read the Bible, and talk the Bible, because it is because we have failed to do those things that people now believe these things.
I really liked his breaking down the scriptures and attacked the real issues the way he did. He went verse by verse. He went and repeated his points many times. Especially the last point what are we going to do about what is wrong with the world? The answer to the last question goes back to the answers to the other questions. It depends how do we see God, how we see ourselves “in Christ” of course. Additionally, then, and what does He want with the likes of me. Our response to those questions will determine “What are we going to do with what is wrong with the world?”

This was an amazing video.  This is one I can agree with.  He preached the Word of God.   He began with Who God is.  The other question cannot be answered without knowing the truth of the first answer.   Once the truth of who God is, is established then we can go on.   The next question is the one I am very interested in.  Who am I?  The answer is amazing and eye opening.   “I am the crowning glory of the creation of God.”   He breathed life into us.  We were created to bring glory and honor to Jesus.  He is to have supremacy and preeminence over ever thing.   He has created us for a reason and that is His glory.   He has a plan for each of us and if we would look at our lives as living out that purpose we would make choices to the glory of God.   We often look at this backwards.  Who am I and then Who is God.   This does not work.   He is Supreme.  We are nothing without Him. Mark “What is wrong with the world?”   That is the question on the lips of many Christians.   The answer surprises us, for we would never expect the true answer.   We are what is wrong with the world.  When we do not live what God created us for then we are the problem.  However God knew our downfall and sinfulness.   This is how things can be made right.  God sent His Son so that we might be justified.  When God is Supreme then things are made right.   (Meisha Deane)

Meisha,
You got it. What is wrong with the world, we are. Even our righteousness is as filthy rags, since our righteousness was not enough our Father gave us His righteousness in Christ. Only then can we glorify God not for what we have done but for what He has done in us.
What is wrong with this world, we are, and too much of our righteousness, and not enough of His righteousness through us. We are living in our own strength. Shame on us.

First, I apologize for the delay. This was a long video to upload but it was very edifying. I share the same thoughts toward the video as Meisha did. It reminded me of Moses and the burning bush in Exodus 3. Who God is was established first in Exodus 3:6, "Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God." Later Moses asks, "Who am I" in verse 11 of that same chapter. In Exodus 3:12-16 God tells Moses that He has a purpose for his life and that He is in control. God reigns supreme, He is the Great I AM. (Trey Hyman)

Meisha,
I totally agree with your response to Mark A. about the crippling effects of our downfall. Sin separates us from God, so we can't give genuine worship if we're separated. But God, who is rich in grace and mercy sent His Son to die on a cross for our sins to reconcile us back to the Father, if we receive it. This in return allows us to come before God to glorify Him in word and deed and to worship Him in spirit and in truth. (Trey Hyman)
